I think I may have written about him before, but Chef Nils will hopefully become a familiar name and face to many of you as we make our way through the summer. He is the Vice President of Culinary Arts at the French Culinary Institute, and former Executive Chef at Aquavit in NYC.
Bravo TV will be coming out with a spin off to Top Chef in June, called Top Chef Masters. This show will take 24 accomplished chefs and put them head to head against each other for various challenges. Each Chef will be competing for an organization, and each week the winning Chef will have money donated to their organization. The Chef that wins Top Chef Masters will have an additional $100,000 donated as well.
Chef Nils will be competing for "Friends of FCI" - this is a non-profit organization that raises money to provide scholarships to FCI students (thanks Chef!)
The show is scheduled to air on June 10th at 10 pm. It won't have all the same hosts as Top Chef, but hopefully it will still be good!

Good luck, Chef!!
PS - Another fun fact about Nils - we have not seen him around school as much as we used to. Why? Because the government in Ireland has hired him to spend time there and develop a culinary training program for their Country. He has been spending time there training Chefs who will help in this educational experience. Maybe travelling to Ireland will not only consist of fish and chips in the future?!
